Privacy policy

This explains what Hirestack collects, why, and what you can do about it. Have a lawyer review it against the rules that apply where you and your users are based before you rely on it.

What we collect

Account data: your name, email address and a hashed password. Passwords are stored using bcrypt and cannot be read by us or anyone with a copy of the database.

Profile data, if you provide it: headline, biography, location, skills, links and an uploaded résumé.

Employer data: company details and the content of listings you publish.

Technical data: IP address, browser type and timestamps, kept in access and security logs.

Why we hold it

To operate your account, show your applications to the employers you applied to, take payment for listings, send the emails you asked for, and detect abuse. We rely on contract for the first three, consent for marketing email, and legitimate interest for security.

Who sees it

When you apply for a role, the employer behind that role receives your profile and résumé. Otherwise your data is shared only with the processors that run the service: our hosting provider, our database provider, Stripe for payments, and our email provider. We do not sell personal data.

How long we keep it

Account data for as long as your account exists. Applications for two years after submission. Payment records for seven years, as tax law generally requires. Security logs for 90 days.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data. Deleting your account from Settings removes your profile and résumé. Email support@hirestack.org for anything else, and we will respond within 30 days.
