Terms of service

These terms govern your use of Hirestack at hirestack.org. By creating an account you accept them. This is a plain-language summary written to be read; it is not a substitute for advice from a lawyer in your jurisdiction, and you should have a solicitor review this document before you rely on it commercially.

1. Accounts

You must give accurate information and keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent where you live, whichever is higher.

2. Posting roles

You may only post roles you are authorised to recruit for. Listings must describe a real, currently open position. We do not permit multi-level marketing schemes, unpaid work described as employment, roles requiring an upfront payment from the candidate, or listings that discriminate on any protected characteristic.

We may remove any listing that breaches these rules, and we may suspend accounts that do so repeatedly.

3. Payment and refunds

Listing fees are charged once per role and stated before you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store card details. If a listing receives no applications within its first 14 days, contact us and we will extend it or refund it at your choice. Refunds close the listing.

4. Candidate data

Applications, including résumés, are shared with the employer whose role you applied to and with nobody else. Employers receiving applications must use that data only to assess the candidate for that role, and must comply with applicable data protection law.

5. Acceptable use

Do not scrape the site, attempt to bypass access controls, probe for vulnerabilities without written permission, or use the platform to send unsolicited commercial messages.

6. Availability

We aim for continuous availability but do not guarantee it. Scheduled maintenance may cause brief interruptions.

7. Liability

We are a listing platform. We do not employ anyone listed here, verify every claim made in a listing, or guarantee any hiring outcome. To the extent permitted by law, our liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the preceding twelve months.
